What instrument is this?
I used to take a yoga class and at the end when we meditated my teacher played this music that basically was just a chime ringing or a bong. It sounded a lot like a tuning fork. Any one know of a yoga meditation cd with this in it or what insturment this could be?
I know just what you are describing and it is a very meditative and calming sound. If it was high pitched and rang for a while, it was probably a Tibetan bell. If you want to get one, they are sometimes available from ethnic music shops, or you can use a small finger cymbal.
