Turn Exercise into a Fun Activity for Kids
You may find it difficult to get your kids to exercise, because they would rather sit in front of the television or play video games all day than to spend 30 minutes exercising. And explaining the good benefits of exercise to their bodies will only bore them, making it hard for you to convince them to stretch their muscles. However, you can get your kids to exercise regularly with fun exercise activities.
• Go biking. Biking helps kids to strengthen their leg muscles and develop good posture. Kids can also ride their bikes when they visit their friend’s house or when they go to the park to play. If your kids are too lazy to go biking, buy them new bikes in their favorite color. Make biking a family weekend activity by riding your bikes to visit the park or to go around the neighborhood.
• Walk your dog. Ask your kids to walk Barney to the park. This is a good form of exercise not just for your kids but for your pet as well. Let your kids bring a ball or Frisbee disc that they can play with your dog. Walking the dog also serves as a healthy bonding activity for your kids and dog.
• Try yoga for kids. Yoga allows your kids to relax and improve their flexibility. Enroll your kids in a yoga class. Check out print brochures of yoga classes for kids in your neighborhood. You can also buy them an instructional video so they can do yoga at home.
• Wash the car with dad. Let your kids help dad clean the car. Washing the car with dad also allows your kids to spend quality time with their dad. They can share funny stories while washing the car. Your kids will feel accomplished the moment they see the car shiny and clean.
• Learn hip-hop dancing. Dancing can help kids discover their talents and exercise their muscles. Look at brochure printing materials of hip-hop classes where you can enroll your kids. Hip-hop dancing classes can also allow your child to learn and interact with other kids.
