10 points! How will sitting/bouncing on a yoga ball instead of sitting in a chair effect my weight? ?
I'm a personal trainer, but i just had a baby so i can't go back to work, and i'm trying to lose the baby weight. But i am hosting an online fitness column where i can answer peoples questions, so i spend a lot of time on the computer. I've decided to replace the chair i sit in with a yoga ball, so i'll be spending a few hours a day just bouncing and sitting on this thing. I know it's ironic for a personal fitness trainer to be asking a question about fitness, but i can't seem to answer this one for myself.
Does anyone know how many calories you burn per hour sitting and lightly bouncing on a yoga ball? How much will it help tone/lift my bum and legs? Thanks guys.
And i will choose best answer, and if you want to email me and ask me a fitness question that's fine as well.
Thanks
xoxo
I wouldn't say it's any more strenuous than sitting and typing at an office..around 100 calories an hour for a 150 pound person. That's just MY opinion.
The benefits of sitting on the ball will improve your posture, balance, and strengthen/tone your core more than your legs.
You will definitely be more conscious of what muscle groups you use when you are sitting because there is not something supporting you-you are supporting something else (the ball-keeping it in place)
