Why bad mouth other clubs and instructors?
Was at the gym the other day and spent just a second to long watching a guy kick the bag, got talking about martial arts and he starts telling me to avoid the one at the uni and his was better and why ... why do I hear this so often? Any smart answers to shut these neds up? Blue belt/ Yoga instructor/engineer
Many clubs and instructor deserve it. They are no better than con artist. They claim to be able to teach you things when they actually can't.
Try go to any school that doesn't do fullcontact sparring or competition and tell the insturctor you're a professional fighter and ask why they don't spar. I promise you the instructor will most likely freak out or shut up about how effective their art are. That's because they know they learned really watered down system and have no real skill, so they make living by selling black belt. Or they simply never learn anything but pretend to know a style and teach them to people who doesn't know very much about martial arts.
However if you're in club or class that competition, it could be because students are bitter. For example when I still live in Las Vegas, I was at one gym for a year and half then move to other gym and few more students does as well. So other students keep put other gym down. Also other gym had problem with one gym because the gym put in a fighter with over 45 fights against a novice fighter. So that install bad blood among them. So next time someone bad mouth, be sure to ask why and investage the whole things out, you may will be surprise. What if the other instructor is known to molest their female students? That have happened many time in past. So keep your ears and eyes open and you may will start see many things you ever knew before.
